Secondary ProviderBiography
Eric F. Stakebake, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, Diplomate Fellow SDPA
Eric graduated from Weber State University with a double major Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Spanish (still speaking Spanish on a daily basis, one can hear the distinctive accent he picked up from living in Spain for two years).
Eric attended the University of Utah as a Biology Ph.D. candidate before PA school, and while doing research and studies in biology, he did student teaching for courses including comparative vertebrate morphology and comparative physiology and simultaneously taught undergraduate human anatomy and human biology courses at WSU as adjunct faculty. It was there that he decided he wanted to go into the field of Medicine.
Eric graduated from Chatham University with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS). A life-long advocate for learning, Eric continued to pursue his educational dreams and earned a rare (fewer than 3% of PAs) Doctorate of Medical Science (DMSc) degree, in the “advanced professional practice of dermatology” track. He also earned additional graduate certificates in healthcare administration and management and executive leadership.
Eric has earned numerous awards, scholarships, and recognition for his work and academic achievements as an undergraduate and graduate student, including a Dean’s Scholarship, the “Outstanding Achievement” award from his PA program, a prestigious membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, various research awards, and also earned the esteemed title of Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA), an educational achievement considered to be the “premier training program” for dermatology PAs.
Before becoming a dermatology PA, Eric worked for four years as a surgical assistant in OB/GYN, and more than eight years in general clinical neurology and pain medicine.
Eric loves working in the field of dermatology. He genuinely cares about people and is both competent and kind. He strives to make patients feel welcome and comfortable. He is proud to be a member of, and advocate for, the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), the Florida Academy of PAs (FAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA), and the Florida Society of Dermatology PAs (FSDPA).
Eric’s hobbies include all kinds of outdoor activities, about anything to do with water, working on his house and yard, traveling, cultural experiences, reading, science, developing his language skills in English, Spanish, or French; going to the local amusement parks, and mostly, he loves spending time with his wife and family.
