Microneedling in Florida

The board-certified professionals at Suncoast Skin Solutions have been dedicated to providing patients with comprehensive surgical, medical, and cosmetic dermatological care. Our cutting-edge surgical and non-surgical approaches to medical and cosmetic dermatology provide our patients with natural-looking results that require minimal downtime and recovery.

What is Microneedling?

When it comes to rejuvenating the skin, many of our patients want to make sure they have treatments that allow them the flexibility to immediately return to their normal daily activities, including work. Microneedling is the perfect skin rejuvenation treatment that can be done between errands or while on your lunch break. This minimally invasive cosmetic treatment involves using a handheld device fit with several very small, hair-like micro-needles to gently puncture the skin and create small perforations called micro-channels. These micro-channels allow the skin to better absorb medical-grade skincare products and trigger the body's natural production of collagen for beautifully smooth skin that keeps getting more youthful with time.

How Much Does Microneedling Cost?

The cost of your microneedling treatment at Suncoast Skin Solutions is going to vary depending on the extent of treatment needed to achieve your desired results. To find out a more accurate cost for your microneedling treatment, we encourage you to come in for a private consultation with one of our expert staff members.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

What Can I Expect During my Microneedling Treatment?

Your microneedling treatments will be performed at your local Suncoast Skin Solutions office by one of our expert board-certified dermatologists. Before your chemical peel treatment begins, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied along the entire face. This is to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your chemical peel. Once numb, the microneedling device will gently be pressed into the skin along the face. The micro-needles at the tip of the device will create small perforations that will trigger collagen production following your treatment. The entire treatment process typically takes less than 90 minutes to complete.

What Can I Expect After my Microneedling Treatment?

Immediately following your microneedling treatment, you may notice your skin being red and sensitive to the touch, similar to the feeling of a sunburn. This is normal and typically resolves on its own within a day or two of treatment. Our dermatologists recommend you avoid wearing makeup for 24-48 hours following your microneedling treatment, as your skin is still healing. Most patients report seeing some results of their microneedling treatments immediately, with ultimate results becoming visible after three to four weeks when collagen production has increased. We typically recommend patients receive three treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve their desired look.

Is Microneedling Right for Me?

If you're unhappy with your uneven skin texture or wish to reduce your acne scarring and lax facial skin, microneedling may be right for you. The best way to find out if microneedling is right for you is to schedule a private consultation with one of our board-certified dermatologists. They'll be happy to sit down with you, listen to your concerns, assess your skin, and develop a fully personalized treatment plan to help you get your healthiest-looking and -feeling skin. Ideal candidates for microneedling are in good general health and have realistic expectations of their potential results.
