Dr. Colleen MacInnis MD
Dr. Colleen MacInnis is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a highly trained MOHs Surgeon. Dr. MacInnis graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1998 and finished her Dermatology residency in 2002. She is an expert in treating disorders of the skin, hair and nails. Her expertise encompasses performing dermatological surgeries, specifically the highly skilled microscopic skin cancer surgery, MOHs.
During her training, Dr. MacInnis worked directly under the guidance of world renowned pathologist, Dr. Neil Crowson.
As a MOHs surgeon, Dr. MacInnis is exceptionally trained in reading pathology. She began practicing as a Dermatologist in Oklahoma, eventually moving and settling in Central Florida in 2007. Known for her caring bedside manner and warm smiles, Dr. MacInnis has quickly established a strong, positive reputation amongst the Central Florida community. As a MOHs surgeon, Dr. MacInnis has performed over 10,000 cases involving skin cancers of the face, ears and nose, as well as, extensively involved skin cancers of the body. Her exceptional knowledge and skill level has led her to perform some of the most complicated and involved skin cancer cases.
While practicing in Oklahoma, Dr. MacInnis was involved in several research programs including: The Testing of the Dermatoscope in the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Melanoma and Medical Treatment Agents for Psoriasis. She has also published research involving the Chemical and Medical Treatment of Melanoma and Basal Cell Carcinoma. In addition, Dr. Macinnis trains and develops Physician Associates and an active participant in the training and education programs of Physician Assistants. Prior to practicing medicine, Dr. MacInnis was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Oklahoma, where she spent almost 10 years working as a veterinarian on large farm animals.
Dr. Colleen MacInnis focuses on high quality patient care and patient satisfaction as her primary goals. Dr. MacInnis is an American Board Dermatology Diplomat, a Fellow of the American Society of MOHs Surgeons and is licensed to practice medicine through the Florida Board of Medicine.
