Michael Lutz, MD
Secondary ProviderBiography
Michael E. Lutz, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgeon. Dr. Lutz also received a Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery Subspecialty Certification in October 2021 from the American Board of Medical Specialties.
He received his medical degree from the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Subsequently, Dr. Lutz attended the illustrious Mayo Graduate School of Medicine where he completed residencies in internal medicine, general dermatology, dermatology surgery, and extensive fellowship training for Mohs micrographic surgery.
Why is it important to choose a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon?
You want your skin cancer treatment to be performed with the highest standards of quality and competency. The American College of Mohs Surgery is the only organization that requires its members, after their years of residency training, to successfully complete an extensive fellowship of at least one full year of hands-on training in the Mohs procedure under the supervision of a highly qualified instructor.
In 1999, Dr. Lutz moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be a consultant for the Dermatology Department at Mayo Clinic, specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatology surgical procedures. In 2003, Dr. Lutz started The Jacksonville Skin Cancer Center and dedicated his practice exclusively to the treatment of skin cancer, specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery.
